In the report prepared regarding the bribery operation targeting the Adana Metropolitan Municipality, it was claimed that Mete Çelebi, who holds the position of the 2nd Vice President of the CHP Adana Provincial Organization, received a bribe of 1 million 823 thousand TL deposited into his bank accounts.
The firms that won the advertising tender of the Adana Metropolitan Municipality are alleged to have leaked the specifications to themselves, and it is claimed that 1 million 823 thousand TL in bribes was deposited into the bank accounts of Mete Çelebi, who is currently sitting in the chair of the CHP Adana Provincial 2nd Presidency.
On December 18, 2023, the teams of the Adana Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch conducted an operation regarding the occurrence of "manipulation of advertising tenders, bribery, and corruption" at the Adana Metropolitan Municipality.
5 OUT OF 10 PEOPLE DETAINED HAVE BEEN ARRESTED
In the operation, 10 people were detained, including Mürüvvet Sızlı, the chief advisor to Mayor Karalar, Yüşa Davarcı, the Director of Sports Services, support officer Mehmet İlker Utuş, Tahir Cem Oğulhan, the owner of Eylul Agency, agency owners Süleyman Aydoğan, Semih Dizidar, and Mete Çelebi, who was the President of the CHP Youth Branch at the time. 5 of the suspects were arrested.
According to the allegations, the financial transactions between Mete Çelebi, who leaked the specifications of the advertising tenders and was later appointed to the position of CHP Adana Provincial 2nd Presidency, and the firms were included in the 878-page report prepared by the Adana Police Department's Organized Crime Branch.
THEY PREPARED THE SPECIFICATIONS TOGETHER WITH THE COMPANY PARTICIPATING IN THE TENDER
The report documented that Mete Çelebi was shown as if he were working insured at Eylul Agency, owned by Cem Tahir Oğulhan, who issued large invoices to the Adana Metropolitan Municipality. It was claimed that Çelebi prepared the tender specifications together with Paragraf Agency, owned by Semih Dizidar, and Aydoğan Wood and Advertising Company, in partnership with Süleyman Aydoğan and his brothers, along with Tahir Cem Oğulhan, and that these specifications caused financial damage to the municipality.
THEY TRANSFERRED APPROXIMATELY 2 MILLION LIRA TO ÇELEBİ'S ACCOUNT
It is claimed that during the presidency of Zeydan Karalar, these firms, which won almost all of the advertising tender jobs of the Adana Metropolitan Municipality, deposited 1 million 823 thousand TL in bribes into the bank accounts of Mete Çelebi, who leaked the specifications to themselves and is currently sitting in the chair of the CHP Adana Provincial 2nd Presidency. A photo also emerged showing that Mete Çelebi played chess with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel every time he visited Adana.
