Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı spoke about the incident where former president Hasan Arat was punched during the Ordinary Divan Assembly Meeting. Adalı stated that he learned Arat would attend the meeting while in the hall and that he should have informed them beforehand. He said, "Mr. Tevfik extends his hand to say 'welcome,' and Mr. Hasan hits his hand. Doesn't Hasan Arat know that it won't go smoothly when he will speak at the divan after 5 months?"
Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı is making statements about the agenda of the black-and-whites on TRT Spor. Adalı used striking expressions regarding the tension between former president Hasan Arat and the Divan Kurulu President Tevfik Yamantürk during the Ordinary Divan Assembly Meeting and the events that followed.
"THERE IS NOT A SINGLE UNIT WE CAN SAY 'THIS IS GOOD'"
Serdal Adalı's statements are as follows;
"We are trying to keep the balance without expressing some things clearly. When we started our duty, there was not a single unit in the club's internal workings that we could say 'This is good.' The operational mechanism of the club was the most exhausting thing for us. There was a picture where it was unclear who was doing what. We are still dealing with these issues. For example, we asked 'Who is the authorized person in the application?'; the authorized person came from Kartal Yuvası. The internal management and system of Beşiktaş should not be in this situation.
"WE DID NOT TAKE AN EASY BEŞİKTAŞ"
When we went to Ümraniye, we saw 2-3 times more of the morale breakdown and feelings of distrust among the people. There is no way to explain this to you. We found an environment where people were having conversations wondering if the club would close down in Ümraniye. There is a 10-fold difference between today's Ümraniye and that day. We did not take an easy Beşiktaş at all.
"I NEVER TRIED TO UNDERMINE ANYONE EVEN AFTER LOSING THE ELECTION"
Even after the elections I lost, I never tried to undermine the board of directors. The success of the management is the success of Beşiktaş. My concern is neither Hasan Arat nor Ahmet Nur Çebi nor Fikret Orman... My first priority is Beşiktaş. As long as Beşiktaş is good, I will be good. Neither I nor anyone in the management has any expectations.
"HE SHOULD HAVE INFORMED IN ADVANCE ABOUT THE FUTURE"
I cannot even describe how sad I am about what happened in the Divan Kurulu. I wish Hasan Arat had informed us in advance and said, 'I will attend the divan tomorrow.' We learned about it there. There is no need for demagoguery like they put him in 17th place. If you had called in advance, of course, you would have been placed in the first place. That is the divan assembly; I have no intervention in it. Nevertheless, in the last meeting, Ahmet Nur Çebi warned him not to get into these matters. He said, 'No, I will.' There was a very nice atmosphere in the divan assembly. Two days ago, approval came from the SPK, we will get rid of the interest. A clean slate will be opened in front of us. I do not think that what happened is very coincidental. Hasan Arat should have informed in advance. I love President Tevfik very much, I respect him, but it should not be thought that I supported him. There is a part of the job that is visible on camera, and there is also a part that is not visible on camera. They said, 'They are pushing and shoving.' These are 70-year-old people.
"DOESN'T HE KNOW THAT THE DIVAN WILL NOT GO NORMALLY?"
Mr. Tevfik extends his hand saying 'welcome,' and Mr. Hasan hits his hand. Mr. Hasan has come very prepared. Hasan Arat will speak in the divan after 5 months; doesn't he know that the divan will not go normally? He started to speak first. Mr. Hasan knows these things; he knows that there will be tension, that they will be asked about these matters. He spoke for 17 minutes. I listened again. What was there to be asked in our minds within those 17 minutes? He said, 'Come with documents.' Did you leave a single document in the club? You erased all the documents and left.
"EVERYONE IS DOING THEIR OWN POLITICS"
They spent 100 million Euros for no reason. Mr. Hüseyin said, '50 million Euros of the 100 million Euros is interest.' Don't treat people like fools; the total amount is 150 million Euros. I like Mr. Hüseyin, but I don't know if he made an annual agreement with the troll team. The news of capital increase came, we were happy. I looked at social media, Hüseyin Yücel was in third place! I was surprised; I didn't understand what was happening. Someone around him is doing this. There are also those who do the same for Fikret Orman. He does not understand and does not like it, but someone close to him is doing this job. He wouldn't do such a thing; it wouldn't even cross his mind, and he wouldn't understand it either. Hüseyin Yücel is throwing shade at me; I wouldn't care less. They shouldn't do these things while Beşiktaş is getting better. No one cares about Beşiktaş, brother. Everyone is doing their own politics.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The 1st Ordinary Divan Assembly Meeting of Beşiktaş for the year 2025 is being held at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Center. While former president Hasan Arat was giving his speech, voices rose in the hall. After the voices rose, while Arat continued his speech, the tension increased further. Arat experienced tension with Divan Assembly President Tevfik Yamantürk after Yamantürk intervened. Arat received a medical report after the incident and initiated legal proceedings.
