According to the latest information from AFAD, a new earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred in the Sındırgı district. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 9.23 kilometers, caused great panic in the surrounding provinces as well.

EARTHQUAKE RISK ASSESSMENT STATION WILL BE ESTABLISHED

After the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Sındırgı on August 10, Fuat Agalday, the President of the Nature Movements Research Association (DOHAD), announced that an earthquake risk assessment station would be established in the district.

Agalday, who visited Sındırgı Mayor Serkan Sak, stated that technical measurements would be made in the region, saying, "With the station we will establish in the center of Sındırgı, we will continuously monitor earthquakes. The fault lines in Balıkesir and its surroundings have a high potential for major earthquakes." Mayor Serkan Sak also stated that they would continue to work in cooperation for a resilient district against disasters.
