After the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Balıkesir on August 10, the region continues to shake like a cradle. According to the latest information from AFAD, a new earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred in the Sındırgı district. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 9.23 kilometers, caused great panic in the surrounding provinces as well.
While Turkey continues to shake like a cradle after the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, the 6.1 magnitude tremor that occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir on August 10 caused great panic in the city and surrounding provinces.

According to the information shared by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a new earthquake of 4.1 magnitude occurred today in Balıkesir, where aftershocks have been continuing since August 10.

EARTHQUAKE RISK ASSESSMENT STATION WILL BE ESTABLISHED
After the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Sındırgı on August 10, Fuat Agalday, the President of the Nature Movements Research Association (DOHAD), announced that an earthquake risk assessment station would be established in the district.
Agalday, who visited Sındırgı Mayor Serkan Sak, stated that technical measurements would be made in the region, saying, "With the station we will establish in the center of Sındırgı, we will continuously monitor earthquakes. The fault lines in Balıkesir and its surroundings have a high potential for major earthquakes." Mayor Serkan Sak also stated that they would continue to work in cooperation for a resilient district against disasters.
