In the Çayırova district of Kocaeli, a suspect who was detained on allegations of harassing two students by a staff member at an elementary school has been arrested.
FAMILIES FILED A COMPLAINT
According to the claim, M.Y., a 70-year-old school gatekeeper, harassed two female students in the 3rd grade. After the students explained the situation to their families, the families went to the police and filed a complaint.
SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE REVIEWED
Upon the complaint, police teams took action and began examining the school's security camera recordings. As a result of the investigations, the suspect M.Y. was taken into custody.
THEY GAVE STATEMENTS ACCOMPANIED BY A PSYCHOLOGIST
As part of the investigation, statements were taken from the victimized children accompanied by a psychologist. It was learned that the children stated that the suspect asked them inappropriate questions, occasionally made physical contact, and gave them money.
ARRESTED AND SENT TO PRISON
After procedures at the police station, the suspect was referred to the Gebze Courthouse and, upon being brought before the on-duty criminal judge of peace, was arrested and sent to prison.
