An explanation has come from Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya regarding the killing of police officer Melih Okan Keskin in a fight that broke out at the TÜVTÜRK station in Ankara. Minister Yerlikaya announced that a police chief inspector has been assigned to the incident.
A police chief inspector has been assigned regarding the murder of police officer Melih Okan Keskin at the TÜVTÜRK station.
POLICE OFFICER BEATEN AT TÜVTÜRK
The incident occurred on February 2 at the vehicle inspection station in the Yenimahalle district. According to allegations, police officer Melih Okan Keskin (44) was told that he could not pass the inspection because his vehicle's parking light was not working. Keskin, who checked his car, stated that he did not encounter such a malfunction. A dispute broke out between Keskin and the employees, who stated that they could not take the vehicle for inspection again. Keskin, who was assaulted by a group during the argument, became unwell and went to the hospital on his own.
DIED
After the first examination, it was determined that Keskin had a shift and bleeding in his brain, and he was transferred to another hospital. After the surgery, Keskin, who became unwell again, could not be saved despite the interventions in the intensive care unit and passed away on February 5. Keskin's body was buried in Karşıyaka Cemetery amid tears after the funeral prayer held following the ceremony at the Ankara Police Department.
POLICE ASSIGNED AN INSPECTOR
While two people were arrested in connection with the incident, an announcement also came from Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. Minister Yerlikaya announced that a police chief inspector had been assigned. In his statement, Yerlikaya said, "I wish God's mercy upon our police officer Melih Okan Keskin, and I extend my condolences to his relatives and our entire organization. A police chief inspector has been assigned regarding this tragic incident."
