The Ankara Governorship has announced new measures for the NATO Summit. Accordingly, fuel tankers, concrete mixers, tow trucks, and other heavy-tonnage vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city from July 5, 2026, at 4:00 PM until July 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM. While parking bans have been implemented in some areas, motorcycle couriers have also been prohibited from entering certain zones.
The Ankara Governorship has shared with the public the new traffic measures to be implemented across the city due to the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit, which will take place on July 7-8, 2026.
In a statement from the Governorship, it was stated that various transportation restrictions will be implemented to ensure the summit is carried out safely and smoothly.
HEAVY TONNAGE VEHICLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE CITY
According to the statement, fuel tankers, concrete mixers, tractors, and other heavy tonnage vehicles will not be permitted to enter Ankara city center from July 5, 2026 at 4:00 PM until July 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM. The Governorship reported that the application will be implemented within the framework of security measures taken for the summit.
SPECIAL ROUTE DETERMINED FOR FOOD TRUCKS
It was stated that trucks carrying food items, from July 6, 2026 at 12:00 AM until July 9, 2026 at 5:00 AM, depending on their arrival routes, will connect to Istanbul Road via the Ring Road, follow Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard towards the city center, and reach the Wholesale Market via Rajiv Gandhi Street towards GİMAT direction and by making a U-turn from the Roma Square traffic lights via Hipodrom Street.
EXCEPTION FOR VEHICLES CARRYING MEDICINE AND EMERGENCY SUPPLIES
It was stated that trucks carrying medicine and perishable emergency supplies, from July 6, 2026 at 12:00 AM until July 9, 2026 at 5:00 AM, can pass through routes other than Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard, Dumlupınar Boulevard, 1071 Malazgirt Boulevard, Sakıp Sabancı Boulevard, Anadolu Boulevard, Ankara Boulevard, Mevlana Boulevard, İsmet İnönü Boulevard, and Atatürk Boulevard.

The Ankara Governorship, stating that it is important for citizens to comply with the traffic regulations and security measures to be implemented on the specified dates and times to avoid any inconvenience, called on the public to be cautious.
