After the "absolute nullity" decision in CHP, the duties of Group Deputy Chairs Gökhan Günaydın and Ali Mahir Başarır, who were referred to the disciplinary board with a request for expulsion, were officially revoked. The titles of the two individuals were removed from the official website of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and their nameplates in their official rooms at the parliament were also taken down.

The liquidation process initiated by the team that took over the administration of the CHP after the court's "absolute nullity" decision has gained official status in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). While the titles of CHP Deputy Group Chairs Gökhan Günaydın and Ali Mahir Başarır, who were referred to the disciplinary committee with a precautionary measure for expulsion, were removed, the traces of the crisis extended to the office rooms in the Parliament corridors.

THEIR NAMES WERE REMOVED BOTH FROM THE OFFICIAL TBMM WEBSITE AND THE OFFICES

The moves by the new CHP administration, which came into office by court order, against individuals known to be close to Özgür Özel found a response in the Parliament bureaucracy. The duties of CHP Deputy Group Chairs Ali Mahir Başarır and Gökhan Günaydın were officially downgraded. First, the titles of "Deputy Group Chair" for the two individuals were removed from the official TBMM website. Immediately after this development, hectic moments were experienced in the Parliament corridors; the nameplates on the doors of the office rooms of Başarır and Günaydın, whose duties had ended, were removed.

DISCIPLINARY AND EXPULSION WAVE EXPANDS

Günaydın and Başarır, whose powers in the Parliament were taken away, are not the only targets of the new administration that took office after the absolute nullity decision. In the power struggle within the party, 11 prominent individuals have so far been referred to the disciplinary committee with a precautionary measure for expulsion... Those names are as follows:

  • Gökhan Günaydın (Istanbul Deputy)
  • Ali Mahir Başarır (Mersin Deputy)
  • Ensar Aytekin (Balıkesir Deputy)
  • Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu (Bursa Deputy)
  • Özgür Karabat (Istanbul Deputy)
  • Umut Akdoğan (Ankara Deputy)
  • Veli Ağbaba (Malatya Deputy)
  • Turan Taşkın Özer (Istanbul Deputy)
  • Burhanettin Bulut (Adana Deputy)
  • Tanju Özcan (Bolu Metropolitan Mayor)
  • Ahmet Serkan Tuncer (Mezitli Metropolitan Mayor)

CHP backstage sources suggest that this liquidation movement, concretized by the removal of nameplates in the Parliament, will further accelerate the scenarios of division within the party and claims of forming a new party.
