It was reported that Defense Minister Yisrael Katz would approve the plan on August 19, and that the Israeli security cabinet would convene for this purpose over the weekend. It was also mentioned that the evacuation plan for Palestinians in Gaza would be presented to the United States upon request.

According to the plan, in the first phase, the city of Gaza will be invaded, approximately one million Palestinians will be moved south, the city will be besieged, and intense attacks will be carried out. In the second phase, the invasion of the refugee camps in the center of Gaza, which has largely been turned into ruins, is foreseen.
Israel had occupied the Gaza Strip for 38 years from 1967 to 2005. Today, the Gaza Strip, where approximately 2.4 million Palestinians live, has been under heavy blockade for 18 years.
