In a letter sent from prison, Selahattin Yılmaz, who was arrested as part of an operation against an armed criminal organization and supported by MHP leader Bahçeli with the words "my compatriot," stated, "The person known as Aziz İhsan has become a whistleblower to be of service to our state. It is impossible for me to have this man harmed. Someone is setting up a trap. The wolf will eat the lamb. I am in the midst of an incredible conspiracy."
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had conducted an operation against a criminal organization allegedly led by Selahattin Yılmaz, targeting 14 suspects, including 2 lawyers.
In the operation carried out in a total of 5 provinces, including Ankara, Antalya, Muğla, and Samsun, centered in Istanbul, 10 people, including the suspect Yılmaz, were arrested.
BAHÇELİ: HE IS MY COMRADE AND FRIEND IN THE CAUSE
The arrest of Selahattin Yılmaz, who is accused of being the leader of a criminal organization and preparing an assassination against Aziz İhsan Aktaş, caused a significant public outcry, especially with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's support for this individual making headlines.
MHP leader Bahçeli stated regarding Yılmaz's arrest, "He is my comrade and friend in the cause. No nationalist can be defined or labeled as a hired killer, assassin, traitor, or illegitimate. To claim that the MHP is being adjusted based on the name Selahattin Yılmaz is a very serious slander, baseless and unfounded fabrication. Moreover, adjusting and directing the MHP is something that no one can do. In summary and repeatedly, Selahattin Yılmaz is my comrade and friend in the cause. I believe that it will be understood and revealed in the process that he is innocent and not guilty," he expressed.
SELAMATTİN YILMAZ'S "SETUP" ALLEGATION AGAINST CHP
Selahattin Yılmaz, who was supported by Bahçeli's words "my comrade," sent a letter to journalist İsmail Saymaz from the prison where he is detained. In his letter, Yılmaz stated, "As a Muslim Turkish nationalist, we are devoted to the People's Alliance supported by my leader Dr. Devlet Bahçeli, the wise leader of the Turkish world, with our lives and heads. I do not want to discuss whether Aziz İhsan Aktaş is a right or wrong person. If he is doing something beneficial for the state and the government, I will support him, stand behind, in front of, and beside him. How can a sane person say that I would have him shot? Moreover, who would benefit from having him shot? Of course, it would benefit the CHP. In my opinion, the CHP factions needed to use a known person for this incident to make a sound. They chose me. I think the purpose of this setup is to both damage me and to threaten and intimidate Aktaş in my name, trying to prevent him from speaking. Could there be such a mental breakdown?

It is said that I will do this job with my son, who has very serious health problems. Only cowards do this. If my son Alperen Göktuğ told me, 'Dad, you kill yourself in front of my eyes, I will live one more month,' I would sacrifice myself without blinking an eye. Those who set up this miserable cowardly scheme will be the ones who remain trapped in it. The person called Aziz İhsan has become an informant to be beneficial to our state. It is impossible for me to have this man shot. Right now, I am struggling to explain how I am innocent. As my political view and religious belief, I cannot harm such a person. There is something serious here; I cannot solve it. Someone is setting up a scheme. The wolf will eat the lamb. No one has been shot. We have not even slapped anyone. We have not sent anyone to his house. I am in an incredible setup."
