According to the information obtained, Soner Yılmaz, the son of the late Mehmet Ali Yılmaz, a well-known figure in the political and sports world, was targeted in an armed attack by an unidentified person or persons while he was at his home. Upon hearing the gunshots, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area.
THREE BULLETS HIT BOTH LEGS
Soner Yılmaz, who was hit by a total of three bullets in both legs during the attack, was urgently taken to the hospital after initial intervention at the scene. It was learned that Yılmaz, who underwent emergency surgery last night, had a successful operation and his current health condition is stable. Security forces have launched a comprehensive investigation to capture the attacker or attackers and to shed light on the reasons behind the incident.
WHO IS MEHMET ALİ YILMAZ?
Yılmaz was born on October 21, 1948, in Of. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Istanbul Academy of Engineering and Architecture.
He served as the Chairman of the Board of Zigana Holiday Village in Antalya, Tek-Art Holding, and Yılmaz Publishing Inc., as the President of Trabzonspor Club, as a Member of Parliament for Trabzon in the 19th Term, and as the State Minister Responsible for Sports. He was married and father of five children.
During his ministry, he organized the pool system in the Turkish Football Federation. He also had investments in the media field. The "TVem" channel broadcasting over the internet, Zigana TV and Zigana FM, which previously broadcast in Trabzon, and media organizations such as Karadeniz and Türk Sesi belonged to him.
