Kubilay Akyol, who had been impersonating a judge for a long time in Silivri, and two suspects accused of assisting him have been arrested. Akyol, in whose home a judge's robe, a promissory note worth 1 million euros, and gold bullion were seized, made a striking confession in his statement: "I have a life built on lies, I was aspiring to be a judge," which became a key detail in the case file.
Under the coordination of the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of the investigation, Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime units took action on July 24, 2026. An operation was carried out against suspects linked to Kubilay Akyol, who allegedly deceived people around him using a fake identity and title.
During searches at the suspects' addresses, items seized included 1 official judge's robe, a promissory note worth 1 million euros, 285 grams of gold bullion, various amounts of foreign currency, numerous debt protocols, and digital materials.
REPORTED TO CIMER UNDER THE PRETEXT OF PARKING
According to details in the investigation file, it was determined that Kubilay Akyol introduced himself as a "judge working at the Ministry of Justice" not only in his social circle but in every area of his daily life.
It was also revealed that Akyol tried to close off the parking area in front of the building in his neighborhood with the excuse that "a bomb could be placed in my vehicle, so the car must always be within camera range," and that he was reported to CIMER about 5 years ago due to this tension with local residents.
CONFESSION OF "I ADMIRED THE JUDGESHIP"
After their processing at the gendarmerie, the detained suspects were referred to the Silivri Criminal Court of Peace. Kubilay Akyol admitted the charges, stating that he also portrayed himself as a judge on social media. The following words in Akyol's statement were entered into the investigation record:
"I also introduced myself as a judge on social media. I have a life built on lies; I admired the judgeship."
DETENTION ORDER FOR THREE SUSPECTS
Asuman Bakaç, who allegedly procured the judge's robe, and lawyer Halil İbrahim Alagöz denied the charges. Both suspects claimed they were unaware of Kubilay Akyol's true identity and were deceived by him.
The court decided to arrest Kubilay Akyol, Asuman Bakaç, and Halil İbrahim Alagöz and send them to prison due to strong suspicion of the crime, the fact that evidence has not yet been fully collected, and the seriousness of the allegations. A comprehensive investigation into the incident continues.
