Speaking to reporters at the hospital, Asel Y. stated that she met Hakan M. three years ago, saying, "Shortly after we met, I started to feel uncomfortable due to his lies and the dirty work he brought home. I constantly wanted to break up with this person, but I didn't notice it at first because I learned these things later. Unfortunately, he never left me alone. On October 3, 2024, I wanted to break up with him once again. That same day, he came to my family's door and shot at me. However, I couldn't prove it because there was no camera footage or similar evidence related to the incident. He insulted me and spat in my face. Then, he tried to portray himself as a victim, claiming he was 'heavily provoked.' Unfortunately, I couldn't present evidence to defend myself because there was no camera footage," she said.

"HE WAS MAKING STATEMENTS TARGETING ME AND MY FAMILY ON SOCIAL MEDIA"

Asel Y., who stated that she was detained for 40 days after this incident, used the following expressions: "Even after getting out of prison, he didn't leave me alone. Knowing that something would happen to me, I had to forgive him several times. Because he was clearly saying that he would harm me. I wanted to leave the city. I went to get permission from the school principal for my children. Just then, Hakan M. appeared in front of me again. Before going to school, I called the police and then my mother. I told my mother, 'Mom, Hakan is here. I feel like he will shoot me soon.' My mother said, 'Daughter, go home.' But I didn't want to go that way, saying, 'There are no cameras there, it's a quieter place.' Later, Hakan came to me and said, 'Shall we have tea over there?' I stated that I didn't want to go. As seen in the videos, I was trying to check my waist to see if he had a gun. He wanted to check my phone to see if I had called the police. I hid the conversation with the police and only showed the part where I called my mother. He then went to the taxi stands. It is also visible in the camera footage. He probably left or hid the gun there. Later, he came back to me. At that moment, I was excited and didn't fully understand what he was trying to do. Because after he got out of prison, he kept saying to me, 'You can't get out until I serve my sentence. You can't work or live.' He was also making insulting posts targeting me, my children, and my mother on social media. He was psychologically pressuring me by using expressions like 'sister, brother, demons.' I was waiting for the police to arrive. He was constantly looking around, waiting for an opportunity. At that moment, he went back to the taxi stands and took the gun from there. He probably had it inside or under the car. After taking the gun, he came back to me. I asked him, 'Hakan, how did we get to this point? Why are you doing this?' He again asked, 'Did you call the police? If you did, I will run away.' I was looking around again when a bullet came from the right. He fled after the incident," she said.

"I AM WAITING FOR HIM TO APPEAR AT ANY MOMENT"

Asel Y. stated that she was anxious after the incident and continued her words as follows: "I have a life-threatening situation. I cannot escape from this person in any way. I don't want to take another bullet. My bone may not be shattered right now, but I can't walk. I don't want to take another bullet. Please help me. I want this person to be caught and arrested as soon as possible. He is currently making threatening posts on social media. He is sending messages that mean 'I left it half-finished, I will complete my work.' Before this incident happened, I was constantly going to the prosecutors. When I went to the prosecutor's office, I always requested that this man be fitted with an electronic bracelet, even if he had no chance of going to prison. But I never received a positive result. Now, after receiving these threatening messages today, I spoke with the police again. But I still have a life-threatening situation. Even while I am lying here, I am not comfortable; I am waiting for him to appear at any moment. A person who does this in front of an elementary school, with so many children around, can do this anywhere; he is currently deranged and will do it again. After all, he thinks he will be safe while he is inside," she said.

Asel Y. stated that she has seen the femicides occurring in Turkey.

"So I wanted to leave the city right now, that's why I actually went to get permission from the vice principal. But as we saw, there was a woman in the news who fled to Istanbul, but her husband found her again. And because this man was not caught, he killed this woman. I do not want to experience these situations. I mean, I am requesting protection. My life is in no way safe," she said.

Asel Y., who stated that she was previously married and had children from that marriage, said, "My children, my brother, my mother, my family have no safety at all. Because if I leave here, he will try to harm my family. And I cannot live with this conscience, if it is going to be like this. This has come to me, let him be caught and serve his sentence from now on, but I do not want to experience another bullet, another pain. I do not want my children to experience these things either. I do not want to fall into this situation because I do not want him; I do not want any woman to fall into this situation. Even if a woman makes a mistake, she does not deserve this. But I am experiencing these things just because I do not want him, because his life and character are not suitable for me, and because I wanted to end my relationship with him. My children are witnessing these things, and I do not want to experience them," she said.
