It has emerged that Dr. Muhammet D., who allegedly took street dogs into his home under the pretext of adopting them and dismembered and killed them, also sexually abused animals.
According to the indictment prepared by the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, animal lovers who care for stray animals next to the Karşıyaka Cemetery complained that Muhammet D. adopted 3 dogs from them on April 26, but when they contacted him the next day to learn about the fate of the animals, he rebuffed them and refused to show the animals.
HAIR SAMPLES OF DOGS FOUND IN TISSUES In the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention and search warrant was issued for the suspect. During the search of Muhammet D.'s house, knives with blood stains and hair samples belonging to dogs were found in tissues. After the procedures at the police station, the suspect was brought to the West Courthouse and was arrested by the magistrate on duty for the crime of "deliberately killing a pet."
"THE 3 PUPPIES I ADOPTED ESCAPED THROUGH THE BALCONY WINDOW" In the indictment, the suspect Muhammet D. stated that he adopted 5 puppies from an unknown person who said he could not take care of them due to being a cancer patient in April 2025, claiming that the puppies escaped through the open window of the kitchen balcony. He stated that he left enough food for the dogs in the area where he fed them while he was not at home during the week. Muhammet D. made the following statement: "When I noticed that the dogs had escaped, I checked the surroundings. I did not find the dogs or their corpses. After the escape of the 5 dogs I adopted, I contacted an unknown person who posted an ad on the internet. I adopted 3 puppies from near the Karşıyaka Cemetery. When I brought the dogs home, I bathed them. The puppy seen on the bag is the one I bathed, and although it was claimed that it was lying motionless and covered in blood, the mentioned color is actually a mixture of milk and wet dog food. It is not a dead dog. The red stains on the wall show a part of the wall I painted for hobby purposes. The last 3 puppies I adopted also escaped through the kitchen balcony window while I was in the shower."
"ANIMAL LOVING WOMEN ENTERED MY HOUSE WITHOUT MY CONSENT" Muhammet D. stated that there were no images of the dogs' escape in the video records and claimed that the kitchen balcony window, where he said the dogs escaped, was in the blind spot of the camera, and therefore no detection could be made. He said that 3 animal-loving women came to his residence to check on the dogs. Muhammet D. claimed that the animal-loving women forcibly entered his house without his consent, stating, "While I was trying to prevent them, a scuffle occurred. I did not use any insulting or threatening words towards them. I just told them to leave my house. I think the evidence seized during the search of my house was placed there by the police."
In the examination of the security camera footage taken from the villa next to Muhammet D.'s villa, it was recorded that he came home with 3 puppies in his hands, and the puppies were not seen in front of the house and garden until the next day after he adopted them. Additionally, it was noted that on both dates he adopted the puppies, he left the house about an hour after bringing the puppies in, struggling to carry a garbage bag and boxes, and subsequently, based on the statements of the person who cleaned and witnesses, it was assessed that the suspect killed a total of 8 puppies and threw them in the trash. In the examination of the suspect's digital materials by the Cyber Crime Department of the Ankara Provincial Police Department, it was found that there were 43,000 images of obscene animal content on his mobile phone, and images of the adopted puppies lying motionless in a bag were detected, while it was determined that he searched for the keyword "white wall paint" in the internet browser of his mobile phone.
HE COMMITTED SEXUAL ABUSE ON DOGS The indictment included the following findings: "Muhammet D. adopted a total of 8 puppies, 3 of which he adopted on March 30 and 5 on April 26 via social media, and after sexually abusing the puppies, he killed them by dismembering them, placing the killed dogs in black garbage bags to eliminate evidence, throwing them away, returning home, wiping the doorknobs and floors, painting the walls, and it was determined that while there was evidence regarding 8 dogs, it was assessed that he carried out these actions against a large number of dogs, and that he kept some of the hair samples of the killed puppies in 7 different groups for an unknown purpose at his residence, and buried a bone fragment belonging to the puppies in the garden area to eliminate the evidence, and it was understood that the suspect had made these actions a profession."
It was requested that Muhammet D. be sentenced to up to 17.5 years in prison for the crimes of "obscenity" and "deliberately killing a pet."
