In Adana, during a dispute in a coffee house, a 76-year-old man attempted to shoot his opponent with a shotgun he retrieved from his vehicle, but the gun jammed. While the man was trying to escape, the suspect reloaded the shotgun and shot him, killing him. In a coffeehouse in Adana, M.Ç. shot and killed Sabahattin Mumcuoğlu with a shotgun during a dispute. The suspect was caught at a gas station where he had gone to inflate a tire while trying to escape after the incident.
SHOT AND KILLED WITH A SHOTGUN
The incident occurred on Toros Street in the Orhan Gazi neighborhood of the Sarıçam district. According to allegations, while Sabahattin Mumcuoğlu (58) was sitting in the coffeehouse, M.Ç. (76) approached him. A dispute broke out between the two for reasons yet unknown. As the argument escalated, M.Ç. took a shotgun from his vehicle and pulled the trigger at Mumcuoğlu, but the gun jammed. At that moment, Mumcuoğlu began to flee. M.Ç., who was reloading the gun, fired at the man from behind.
As a result of the gunfire, Mumcuoğlu was shot in the groin and collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood. M.Ç. fled in his car. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Medical teams determined that Mumcuoğlu had died. Relatives of Mumcuoğlu, upon receiving the sad news, came to the scene and wept. After investigations, Mumcuoğlu's body was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.
CAUGHT AT THE STATION WHERE HE ENTERED TO INFLATE A TIRE
Regarding the incident, the teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch started pursuing M.Ç. The suspect was identified through license plate checks of PTS transitions, and it was determined that he was on the D-400 highway. The police caught the suspect at a gas station in the Anadolu neighborhood of Yüreğir district, where he had gone to inflate the tire of his vehicle, along with the weapon used in the crime, and took him into custody. The suspect M.Ç. was taken to the police station.
