Cold and rainy weather continues to affect a large part of the country, especially Istanbul. According to AKOM data, the precipitation, which paused starting from yesterday noon, will resume tonight. In Istanbul, the precipitation expected to make its effect felt at 08:00 tomorrow morning is forecast to continue until 22:00 at night, for exactly 14 hours.
According to the report by AKOM of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Affairs and Risk Management Department, rainy weather is returning to Istanbul. The rainfall, expected to begin as of tonight, is forecast to increase its effect across the province starting at 08:00 tomorrow morning and continue, accompanied by strong winds (20-50 km/h), at times severely until 22:00 in the evening.
"YELLOW CODE" WARNINGWith the return of rainy weather, AKOM issued a "Yellow Code" warning and made the following warnings:
"Due to the storm and strong rainfall passages, it is important to switch to a shift-based duty system against possible adverse situations, to ensure other personnel are reachable and can be called in in an emergency, to take necessary measures before the rainfall (collecting garbage and similar materials, cleaning manholes and drains), to take measures at underpasses below grade level, at our squares on the seashore and at critical points where flooding has previously occurred, to check rainwater pumps, and to keep teams on standby during the rainfall."
