MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli announced that his party will go to a congress. Stating that the provincial and district congresses were completed at the 15th Ordinary Congress, Bahçeli said, "It has been decided that our party's 15th Ordinary Grand Congress will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2027."
The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli announced his party's congress calendar. Stating that the provincial and district congresses have been completed in the organizational work carried out across Turkey, Bahçeli announced that preparations for the MHP's 15th Ordinary Grand Congress have reached the final stage.
BAHÇELİ ANNOUNCED THE CONGRESS DATE
Bahçeli stated that, in line with the decision taken by the party leadership, the MHP's 15th Ordinary Grand Congress will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2027. At the Grand Congress, the party's new leadership bodies and its policy goals for the coming period will become clear.
Bahçeli's statements were as follows:
"The Nationalist Movement Party continues its march toward Turkey's future with determination, drawing strength from its deep-rooted history, with the important experience it has gained over time, and with its unwavering responsibility toward the trust it has received from its nation. For the 15th Ordinary Congress process, we have completed our provincial and district congresses in an atmosphere of great maturity, unity and brotherhood.
"MHP SEES TURKEY'S INDEPENDENCE AS A FUNDAMENTAL ISSUE TODAY JUST AS IT DID YESTERDAY"
Following our Provincial Chairmen Meeting held on October 22, in the meeting we held today with the participation of our Central Executive Board and Central Disciplinary Board members and our Members of Parliament, the political, social and geopolitical developments occurring in our country and region were addressed in all their aspects, and the opportunities before Turkey and the issues it faces were comprehensively evaluated.
The Nationalist Movement Party, with the awareness of the national responsibility it has borne throughout history, sees Turkey's survival, our nation's peace and prosperity, our state's independence, and the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world as fundamental issues today just as it did yesterday. Our march is a blessed march that draws nourishment from the will of our noble nation, takes strength from the history of the Turkish nation, and is directed toward Turkey's future.
The Nationalist Movement Party will under no circumstances refrain from fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to it by its nation. We will resolutely continue our work to overcome all kinds of obstacles before Turkey, to further strengthen our national unity and togetherness, to carry our country to a stronger position at regional and global scale, and to build the common future of the Turkic world.
The Nationalist Movement Party is today, as it was yesterday, at the command of its nation, in the service of Turkey, and on the side of the Turkish nation's future.
"WE WILL HOLD THE GRAND CONGRESS ON FEBRUARY 7, 2027"
With this understanding and responsibility, it has been decided that our Party's 15th Ordinary Grand Congress will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2027. While evaluating the responsibilities this blessed march will assume in the coming period and the issues Turkey faces, we are addressing in all their aspects the developments concerning our national will, the survival of our state, and the future of our nation.
"THERE IS AN ATTEMPT TO SUBJECT TURKEY TO ENCIRCLEMENT THROUGH ITS IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS"
We carefully monitor attempts to subject Turkey to a multi-directional strategic encirclement through its neighbors in the Mediterranean basin and its immediate surroundings. Developments in the vast geopolitical area stretching from the Eastern Mediterranean to North Africa, from the Middle East to the Caucasus and Turkestan directly concern Turkey's national security, sovereign rights and regional responsibilities.
The Republic of Turkey, with its strong state tradition, institutional memory and experience of statecraft, evaluates the developments it faces in all their dimensions, takes the necessary measures in a timely manner, and resolutely demonstrates its will to protect its national interests. Calculations that seek to drag Turkey into a passive position in its own geography, narrow its room for maneuver, and keep it out of regional developments must take into account our state's historical accumulation and our nation's will.
THE MECCA TREATY AND THE BEDIR ACCORD
The bond we have established with our geography is not a bond that can be explained only by maps and borders. In recent days, our historical march, which began with the Treaty of Mecca and was crowned by the Bedir Accord, points to the responsibility of our faith, our understanding of solidarity and our conception of civilization in the geography of our hearts. The duty imposed by this historical heritage is fulfilled within the framework of the powers derived from our nation's will and the means of our state, with due regard for the requirements of international law and legitimacy.
Turkey has a strong will to protect its own security, defend its national rights and contribute to the establishment of regional stability in every situation where this is needed.
On the other hand, the approval by the Libyan House of Representatives of the memorandum on the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas with Libya is an important development for Turkey's legitimate rights in the Eastern Mediterranean and for regional cooperation.
The fact that this development has caused discomfort in some circles has once again revealed the nature of the interest struggles and influence calculations in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Turkey protects its rights arising from international law, defends its legitimate interests in maritime jurisdiction areas, and does not allow others to decide on its own future.
Turkey is a state that uses its diplomatic means when necessary, takes the required legal and political steps, and fulfills its responsibility in matters concerning its national security.
On the other hand, we are also carefully monitoring approaches that assess Turkey separately from the Turkic world and seek to implement a calculation of a Turkic world without Turkey.
Relations among the Turkic states have a historical foundation too deep to be reduced to political projects designed from outside, geopolitical calculations, and divisive designs.
The future of the Turkic world is based on the sovereignty of our independent states, mutual respect, equal partnership, trust and the law of brotherhood.
The Summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Ankara next week will be an important manifestation of this historical responsibility and the will for a common future.
It is clear that the Turkic world must find its strength in mutual trust and solidarity. The expectations of those who are discomforted by this unity will not find any response in the face of the common will of our brotherly states.
Our esteemed President's invitation to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the summit in Ankara is also important in terms of preserving the historical and strategic value carried by Turkey-Azerbaijan relations.
The bonds between Turkey and Azerbaijan rise above daily political developments and temporary disagreements, resting on shared history, language, culture, mutual trust and the unity of hearts of our nation.
Of course, different assessments and issues awaiting resolution may arise between states. What is truly important is to demonstrate the will to resolve these issues through mutual understanding and direct dialogue without harming the law of brotherhood.
Preserving the mutual trust between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is indispensable for maintaining solidarity between the two states and safeguarding the common future of the Turkic world.
On the other hand, I would like to remind once again: the idea that Türkiye is a country condemned to unresolved social and economic problems is incompatible with Türkiye’s state experience, political will and capacity to produce solutions.
We also do not ignore that the issues that have recently been sought to be kept on the agenda in Türkiye are being used to overshadow the real developments and divert public attention in other directions.
Therefore, it is of great importance to carefully evaluate any development that could overshadow our country’s priorities and to act with a sense of responsibility regarding national issues.
The Nationalist Movement Party acts with this awareness.
Thank God, every one of our members is aware of the political responsibility borne by the People’s Alliance and the historical duty we have undertaken toward our nation.
What is essential for us is to protect the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Türkiye.
Strengthening our national unity and solidarity and raising our nation’s peace and prosperity are among our fundamental priorities.
Making lasting contributions to the future of the Turkic world is also an inseparable part of our historical responsibility.
The Nationalist Movement Party, with the important experience it has gained in the critical processes Türkiye has gone through, will continue to produce solutions to Türkiye’s current issues, read the conditions of the future and serve the future of the Turkish nation.
We will continue with determination and resolve to fulfill the responsibility imposed on us by our history, the duty our nation has entrusted to us and the responsibility we bear toward the future.
I thank and wish success to my fellow comrades in cause who participated in today’s joint meeting of the MYK-MDK and Members of Parliament.
On this occasion, I salute with respect my beloved nation and my brothers and sisters living in our geographies of heart and culture.
