ACQUISITION OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED
Netflix announced in March that it had acquired InterPositive, the AI company founded by Ben Affleck. This week, the company disclosed the financial details of the acquisition process in official documents shared with the public.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 10-Q report submitted to the SEC stated that the acquisition was completed for approximately $587 million in cash and that the transaction was accounted for as a business combination.
COMPANY NAME NOT INCLUDED IN DOCUMENTS
Although InterPositive's name was not directly mentioned in the official documents, Netflix announced in a statement on March 5, 2026, that the acquired company was InterPositive.
BEN AFFLECK: THIS TOOL WAS DESIGNED FOR FILMMAKERS
Ben Affleck expressed his satisfaction with InterPositive joining Netflix, the company he founded in 2022 with a team of 16 engineers, researchers, and creative industry professionals.
The famous actor previously stated that the technology they developed serves a different purpose from generative AI, saying, "InterPositive was developed to solve specific problems faced by filmmakers and to engage them more in the production process. This system is not based on generating content with text commands or creating something new from scratch. It allows you to create a model from your own materials."
