Beşiktaş is electing its new president at an extraordinary general assembly. Hasan Arat, who was elected president on December 3, 2023, could not complete his term. Arat resigned on November 29 due to the poor performance of the football team and issues within the board of directors. According to the statute, the second president, Hüseyin Yücel, convened the board and decided to hold an extraordinary congress. Yücel and former board member Serdal Adalı are competing to become Beşiktaş's new president in the congress.
