The police intervened in the tent vigil initiated by CHP member Mahmut Tanal in front of the Ministry of Justice for detained students. Following this development, Ayşe Ateş, the wife of the late Sinan Ateş, former President of the Ülkü Ocakları, went to Tanal to show her support. Speaking here, Ateş said, "Murderers and thieves roam the streets, but the youth, who are the future of the country, are in prison."

CHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal has started to set up a tent and keep vigil in front of the Ministry of Justice for the students who were arrested for participating in the protests that began with the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and continued with his arrest and removal from office.

In a statement made on his social media account, Tanal announced that he set up a tent in front of the ministry building on Atatürk Boulevard from this evening until tomorrow morning and started the vigil, stating, "I am on vigil for freedom and justice for the young people and students who are unjustly detained."

POLICE INTERVENED

However, Tanal's tent protest was intervened by police teams. The police removed the tent that Tanal had set up from the sidewalk in front of the ministry. The Turkish Penal Code and law books that Tanal had brought with him were also taken away.
