ELON MUSK SUMMONED FOR TESTIMONY
The Paris Prosecutor's Office announced that the scope of the investigation was expanded following complaints about the operation of X's artificial intelligence chatbot Grok. According to the prosecutor's office, Elon Musk and X's former CEO Linda Yaccarino were summoned to testify on April 20 as part of the investigation.
In the prosecutor's statement, it was said, "The conduct of this investigation is part of a constructive approach aimed at ensuring compliance with French laws to the extent that the X platform operates on French territory."
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO GROK'S PRODUCTION OF SEXUAL CONTENT IMAGES
Meanwhile, the European Commission launched a separate investigation into Elon Musk's X platform last month. This review focuses on allegations that Grok could produce sexual content images and lead to the dissemination of materials related to the sexual exploitation of children. The investigation came to light after significant public backlash regarding Grok's ability to digitally strip individuals through its AI-powered image generation and editing features.
MUSK UNDER PRESSURE DUE TO EPSTEIN FILES
The latest Jeffrey Epstein documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice also included notable correspondence regarding Elon Musk. The documents contained statements from email exchanges between Musk and Epstein, who was convicted of sexual offenses against children in 2008, indicating that the two met in the Caribbean during holiday periods and may have visited an island owned by Epstein at least once.
In an email dated November 25, 2012, Epstein asked Musk how many people he would be bringing for a helicopter trip to the island, to which Musk indicated he would be coming with his then-wife Talulah Riley. The correspondence included Musk asking, "What day will the wildest party on the island be?" and in another message sent on Christmas Day, he mentioned having a busy year and expressed a desire to "get into a party atmosphere" in St. Barts or elsewhere.
