In the Buldan district of Denizli, a dispute alleged to have arisen over cutting wood between 93-year-old Süleyman U., who has Alzheimer's disease, and his 65-year-old son İsmail U. ended in tragedy. Süleyman U. shot and killed his son with a rifle and seriously wounded his 62-year-old daughter-in-law, Sultan U. Legal proceedings against Süleyman U., who was detained by the gendarmerie, are ongoing.
In the Buldan district of Denizli, Süleyman U. (93), who has Alzheimer's disease, killed his son İsmail U. (65) by shooting him with a shotgun after an argument, and seriously wounded his daughter-in-law Sultan U. (62). Süleyman U. was taken into custody.
ARGUMENT ERUPTED OVER CUTTING WOOD
The incident occurred around 13:00 in Karaköy Neighborhood. According to reports, an argument broke out between Alzheimer's patient Süleyman U. and his son İsmail U. over cutting wood. After the argument, Süleyman U. fired a shotgun first at his son İsmail U., then at his daughter-in-law Sultan U. Emergency medical and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from bystanders.
93-YEAR-OLD FATHER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The medical team that arrived at the scene determined that İsmail U., who was shot in the chest, had lost his life. Sultan U., who was seriously wounded by a shot under the armpit, was taken by ambulance to Buldan State Hospital. After the gendarmerie teams' examination at the scene, İsmail U.'s body was taken to the Buldan State Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Within the scope of the investigation launched regarding the incident, Süleyman U. was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams. It was reported that Süleyman U.'s procedures are ongoing.
