Boat tragedy: Father drowned, son swam to safety.

In the Karasu district of Sakarya, a boat capsized due to the waves. Father Erol Çiftçi drowned, while his son Okan Çiftçi managed to swim to safety. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.

Erol Çiftçi, along with his son Okan Çiftçi, set out to fish in a 4-meter boat in the Haralomba area of the Karasu district of Sakarya. The boat capsized due to the waves and sank, causing both father and son to fall into the sea. While Erol Çiftçi was swept away by the waves, his son managed to swim to the shore. Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, and Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the scene.

DIED

After struggling with the waves for about 15 minutes, Erol Çiftçi began to be dragged towards the shore. The teams pulled Erol Çiftçi out of the water. After the initial intervention by the medical team at the scene, Çiftçi was taken to Karasu State Hospital. Despite all the doctors' efforts, Erol Çiftçi could not be saved. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
