Bolu Mountain Tunnel has reopened in the Ankara-Istanbul direction after the completion of the extension works for both tubes. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, stated, "We have extended the Ankara-Istanbul direction by 67 meters and opened it for service today, 12 days ahead of schedule. Our country's busiest highway is now much safer against potential landslides in Bolu Mountain."

BOLU MOUNTAIN TUNNEL IS OPEN IN THE ANKARA-ISTANBUL DIRECTION
The long-awaited end has come in the Bolu Mountain Tunnel, which has been closed to traffic for a while. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the tunnel has been opened in the Ankara-Istanbul direction.
TUNNEL TUBES WERE EXTENDED
Minister Uraloğlu stated in his social media account: "Bolu Mountain Tunnel is once again in the service of our people. After the landslide in 2022 at the Bolu Mountain Tunnel location, we started working on extending both tubes of the tunnel. We opened the first section by extending it 90 meters in the Istanbul-Ankara direction in 2023.
OPENED 12 DAYS EARLIER THAN PLANNED
We extended the Ankara-Istanbul direction by 67 meters and opened it today, 12 days earlier than planned. Our country's busiest highway is now much safer against possible landslides in Bolu Mountain. Congratulations to all our citizens who use Bolu Mountain Tunnel. Turkey is accelerating with more safety and comfort."
