Famous singer Bonnie Tyler has died at the age of 75 in Portugal. The artist had been receiving treatment following intestinal surgery in May.

Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, who gained worldwide fame with her song "Total Eclipse of the Heart," has passed away at the age of 75.

In a statement from the artist's family, it was reported that Tyler died at a hospital in Portugal where she was undergoing treatment.

The statement noted that Tyler, who underwent intestinal surgery in May in the city of Faro, was kept in a medically induced coma for a period, and her health condition was thought to have shown improvement recently.

Born in Wales in 1951 and originally named Gaynor Hopkins, Tyler began her music career with her debut album "The World Starts Tonight" released in 1977. Gaining attention with "It's a Heartache" in 1978, Tyler achieved international success with "Total Eclipse of the Heart" released in 1983.

Nominated for the Grammy Awards three times, Tyler represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013. Tyler was honored with a royal order in 2022 for her contributions to music.
