In the Gürbulak village of the Alucra district in Giresun, concerns about theft are rising ahead of the cabbage harvest known as "Alucra Kelemi".
ALARM HAS BEEN GIVEN
In recent weeks, unidentified individuals entering the fields have been reported to steal crates of cabbage, causing distress to the producers. Villagers have started to keep watch in the fields at night to protect the products they have cultivated with months of effort.
"OUR VILLAGERS HAVE STARTED TO KEEP WATCH OUT OF NECESSITY"
Ahmet Uran, the headman of Gürbulak Village, stated that the theft incidents that have been ongoing for two years have caused great anxiety in the village, saying, "We are facing a theft incident that we have never experienced for two years, both last year and this year. Thieves come at night and steal our Alucra Cabbages that we have cultivated with great effort. Our villagers have now started to keep watch in their gardens out of necessity," he said.
