Eight people were killed and 25 injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh. It was reported that some of the injured are in serious condition and the death toll may rise.

Eight people lost their lives and 25 others were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in the Sylhet region in northeastern Bangladesh.

25 PEOPLE INJURED

In the Sylhet region, located approximately 240 kilometers northeast of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, two passenger buses collided head-on around 07:30 local time. Police and health teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. In a statement made by police officials, it was reported that, according to initial findings, 8 people died and 25 people were injured in the accident.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO THE ACCIDENT

It was stated that some of the injured, who were taken to nearby hospitals after initial intervention, were in serious condition and the death toll could rise. Security forces reported that the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
