Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the CHP's Çankaya Municipality, 30 people, including Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner and some municipal bureaucrats, were taken into custody by the teams of the Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch Directorate on charges of 'forming a criminal organization', 'being a member of a criminal organization', 'accepting and giving bribes', and 'tender fraud'.

30 suspects, including Mayor Güner, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were sent to court.
WHAT DID HE SAY IN HIS POLICE STATEMENT?
In his statement at the police station, CHP member Güner said, 'My assets are those I had before being elected as mayor. They were acquired through personal savings and inheritance. I have no crypto accounts.'
Güner defended himself by stating that he earns his living from his mayor's salary and municipality council attendance fees, and also receives rental income from an apartment inherited from an estate, adding, 'Throughout my term, due to my duties and responsibilities, tender and procurement processes are not determined by me. After preparations and procedures are carried out by the relevant directorates, they are sent to the financial services directorate, and tenders are conducted by the Central Purchasing Office. This procedure, which was the same before me, continues after me. I have no knowledge or involvement in the preparation and execution of tenders. Therefore, I did not set any criteria.'
