The statements made by Balamir Emren, who portrayed the character "Mert" in the series Akasya Durağı, which aired between 2008-2012 and had a large audience in Turkey, about Melek Baykal and Zeki Alasya during a program he attended sparked controversy. Following the allegations, a response came from Zeki Alasya's wife, Jülide Alasya.

The series Akasya Durağı, which was among the most-watched productions in Turkish television history and aired between 2008-2012, came back into the spotlight years later due to a controversy among its cast members. Statements made by Balamir Emren, who played the character "Mert" in the series, during a program sparked debate.

Emren, referring to Melek Baykal, who portrayed the character "Taksici Melahat" in the series, said, "Seeing her in the mornings would drain my energy," and claimed that the late actor Zeki Alasya, known for the character "Nuri Baba," and Baykal did not speak after the first season.

Following these remarks, Zeki Alasya's wife, Jülide Alasya, issued a written statement denying the allegations. Alasya stated, "There was never any animosity between Zeki and Melek. On the contrary, Melek was one of Zeki's most cherished friends for years."

Meanwhile, Melek Baykal's response was not long in coming. She reacted to Balamir Emren through a statement on her social media account, saying, "After 15 years, is it worth making claims that do not reflect the truth? Do not mention my name or my professional life again."
