Car fire in the Eurasia Tunnel! Entrances and exits have been closed.

In Istanbul, dynamic moments were experienced in the Eurasia Tunnel, which connects the European and Asian sides. A fire broke out in a vehicle for an undetermined reason. Due to the fire, the tunnel's Asian direction was temporarily closed to traffic.

THE TUNNEL WAS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC DUE TO THE FIRE

A large number of police, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Chaos increased significantly in Istanbul, where traffic had come to a standstill due to heavy rainfall. Authorities stated that the tunnel would be opened after the fire was brought under control and that efforts were ongoing to restore normal traffic flow.

IBB TRAFFIC DATA: CONGESTION EXCEEDED 80%

According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mobile Traffic application, as of 15:25, traffic congestion in the city reached 83%. Due to the rain continuing intermittently throughout the day, it is expected that traffic will remain heavy in the coming hours.
