The fact that Cemil Tugay, the independent Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality who resigned from the CHP, did not meet with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was in the city, and posed side by side with AK Party member Eyyüp Kadir İnan, who had previously called him "Hımbıl," at an exhibition opening has reignited transfer claims.
While uncertainty continues regarding the political future of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, yesterday's developments caused widespread repercussions in city and national politics. Tugay, who continues his duty as an independent after resigning from the CHP, came together with AK Party Izmir Deputy Eyyup Kadir Inan at the opening of the Nazim Hikmet Exhibition. Tugay, who has been on the agenda for some time regarding joining the ruling party, giving a friendly impression with Inan has fueled transfer claims.
DID NOT MEET WITH KILICDAROGLU
It had been claimed that Cemil Tugay, who was said to be moving to the YENI Party after leaving the CHP but abandoned this decision, could return to the CHP by making contact with Kemal Kilicdaroglu. However, it was noteworthy that Tugay did not come together with CHP Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who has been carrying out a busy program in Izmir for two days, at any event. While distance was maintained from the former chairman, appearing in the same frame with AK Party aides weakened the possibilities of returning to the party.
HAD SAID "LAZYBONES"
The warm images of Cemil Tugay and Eyyup Kadir Inan at the exhibition opening also reminded people of the harsh arguments they had in the past. Five months ago, Inan had used the expression "Lazybones" for Tugay; Tugay had responded with a harsh outburst, saying "I will be your nightmare, I will expose your lies."
FROM ONE EXTREME TO THE OTHER
The fact that two figures known for their harsh rhetoric towards each other came together side by side in a short time, displaying completely opposite behavior, drew great reaction from social media users and the city's public opinion.
