It was confirmed through a tip about the location where Zeynep Yıldırım, who disappeared approximately 4 years ago in Istanbul Esenyurt, was murdered, and through forensic medicine reports. Following the confessions of suspect Fethi Dağlı, bone fragments belonging to a human were excavated in the coal cellar of a building. The DNA report from the Forensic Medicine Institute confirmed that the bones belonged to Zeynep Yıldırım.
In the investigation into Zeynep Yıldırım, who had been missing for a long time in Istanbul, chilling facts have come to light. Fethi Dağlı, the primary suspect detained within the scope of investigation number 2026/141150 conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, confessed to police and prosecutor's offices regarding the murder and the location where the body was buried.
CHILLING CONFESSION: HE STRANGLED HER FOR 15-20 MINUTES
According to the statements given by suspect Fethi Dağlı during the scene reconstruction carried out on September 1, 2026, under the supervision of Public Prosecutor Leyla Yağmur Bülbül, the incident occurred approximately 4 years ago.
In his statement, Dağlı claimed that he encountered Zeynep Yıldırım on the street and took her to his residence to help her. The suspect alleged that when they arrived home, an argument broke out between his brother Yaşar Dağlı and the victim, and claimed that his brother offered a relationship to Zeynep Yıldırım, and when she refused, he strangled the victim for about 15-20 minutes, killing her.
Fethi Dağlı stated that after the murder, they removed the victim's lifeless body through the window railings and laid it in the coal cellar area behind the building, confessing that they buried the body there.
SKELETAL FRAGMENTS UNEARTHED IN COAL CELLAR EXCAVATION
During the scene reconstruction and inspection at the address on Kanarya Street, Hürriyet Neighborhood, Esenyurt, an excavation was initiated by municipal workers and crime scene investigation teams. In the excavation carried out in the coal cellar area of the building, numerous bone fragments were found, including the victim's underwear, skull, right hand, breastbone (manubrium), hyoid bone, vertebrae, ribs (costae), wrist and metacarpal bones, and teeth.
The evidence collected at the scene under the supervision of Forensic Medicine Specialist Şuayıp Gülümser and Forensic Anthropology Specialist Özge Ünlü Türk was bagged and sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute Presidency to determine the definitive cause of death and identity.
DNA ANALYSIS COMPLETED
In the report prepared by the Biology Department of the Forensic Medicine Institute on September 3, 2026, female bone samples numbered "2026/171K" taken from the morgue were examined.
In the DNA analysis conducted by experts, the DNA profile obtained from the bone samples was compared with the DNA profile of Gülay Nuştır, who was claimed to be the mother. As a result of the analyses, while the biological father's DNA profile remained unknown, it was determined that Gülay Nuştır was the biological mother of the bones found.
Thus, the 4-year mystery was completely unraveled with the forensic report, and it was learned that judicial authorities are continuing the investigation into the suspects by deepening it.
