Resignation of Ngrebada government awaits president's approval.

The Central African Republic's Prime Minister Firmin Ngrebada on Thursday announced his resignation.

Ngrebada said on Twitter that his government tendered its resignation to President Faustin Archange Touadera.

However, the reason behind the decision and whether the resignation will be accepted by Touadera remains unclear.

Ngrebada has been in the post since early 2019.

According to the UN, the Central African Republic is one of the least-developed countries in the world. The country continues to suffer from the outcome of the civil conflict in 2013. -
