It has been reported that during private meetings with donors to his election campaign last year, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to bomb Moscow to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin from attacking Ukraine. Trump allegedly said to Putin, "If you go into Ukraine, I will bomb Moscow until it is destroyed. I have no other choice."
The American news organization CNN has obtained recordings of closed-door speeches made by Trump during fundraising events held in New York City and the state of Florida as part of his 2024 election campaign.
"I WILL BOMB MOSCOW UNTIL IT'S DESTROYED"
In the audio recordings, Trump stated, "I told Putin, 'If you invade Ukraine, I will bomb Moscow until it's destroyed. I have no other choice.' He said he didn't believe me, but I think he believed me about 10%."
HE ALSO THREATENED CHINA SIMILARLY
Trump explained that he made a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding Taiwan, saying, "I told him, 'If you attack Taiwan, we will bomb Beijing.' He thought I was crazy. But we didn't have any issues."
Trump also argued that if he were in office instead of then-President Joe Biden, there would be no conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. The audio recordings revealed that Trump commented on protests held in U.S. universities in support of Palestine. In the recordings, Trump stated that deporting the students participating in the protests would stop the demonstrations, saying, "I would deport the students participating in the protests."
