MasterChef jury member Mehmet Yalçınkaya, who has been avoiding showing his hand on camera for many years due to an accident he had, has finally shared the incident. Yalçınkaya, who lost three fingers in an accident when he was 5 years old, said, "I worked harder because I thought no one would hire me, and I came this far. My two children got my hand tattooed. My chef friends never asked about my hand. I hope I can inspire someone."

In MasterChef Turkey, which is broadcasted on TV8, the contestant selections are ongoing. Famous chef Mehmet Yalçınkaya, who noticed that contestant Melek Baba does not have fingers and constantly tries to hide his hand, told his own accident that happened years ago for the first time.

"I HID BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE FINGERS"

The contestant, who lost his hand at the age of 3 in a tractor engine accident, said, "I hid because of this, now I want to be free. I don't want to think that I am cursed as if it is an incident that can happen to anyone. When I lived in a small town, everyone knew, but when I came to the big city and got married, I tried to hide it from everyone," he said.

YALÇINKAYA: I LOST 3 OF MY FINGERS WHEN I WAS 5 YEARS OLD

Mehmet Yalçınkaya, who noticed that the contestant constantly hides his cut hand, said, "If I inspire you and you step back for this, you are doing it wrong. I have never mentioned this issue before. I can tell my story to break your hiding incident. I also experienced this incident when I was 5 years old. Our stories are similar... I also lost 3 fingers while playing with my friends. I understand you. It's not easy," he said.

"I HID MY HAND WHEN I WENT TO JOB INTERVIEWS AND MILITARY OFFICE"

Yalçınkaya, who said that he had difficulty in the industry because he didn't have fingers, continued his words as follows: "When you go to a job interview, you hide because it seems like no one will hire you. Later, after they hire you, they send other people with you to see if they can do the job. One of our close relatives thought that I wouldn't be able to get married. I was hired in most of the workplaces and made a career. Now, as you can see, I am here as a jury. It's not an easy road and unfortunately, perspectives are always about appearance. When I went to the military office, I hid my hand so that they would take me to the army. When I saw the soldiers in the city and told them that I hid my hand, they asked me to tell the truth. This is not a curse, it's an accident.

"I WORKED HARDER BY BEING AMBITIOUS"

"An accident that happened while playing with 2 friends in front of the door. Most people say it happened in a meat grinder. The accidents we experience in our lives make us hold on more. Some people have no hands, no arms, half of their bodies are missing. In my story that I started as an apprentice at the age of 11, no one believed that I would become a chef. This always gave me ambition and perseverance. I worked harder than anyone else."

"MY CHILDREN GOT TATTOOS OF MY HAND"

My two children's tattoos are my hand. There will also be people who love you in this state. After they got the tattoos, they showed them to me 1 year later to see if I would be affected. For example, Danilo and Somer always cut the meat themselves so as not to put pressure on me. They don't let it show. One of Turkey's largest television channels made me a jury without prejudice. These two friends of mine never talked or asked anything about my hand. You also continue to embrace life by leaving everything behind. I am here. I think I became an inspiration a little bit with this occasion," he said.

Somer Sivrioğlu, who learned about his friend Mehmet Yalçınkaya's accident, also had emotional moments.
