Lawyer Serdar Öktem was seriously injured in an armed attack with long-barreled weapons in front of his office in Şişli, Istanbul. Öktem had previously been detained for a period in connection with the Sinan Ateş murder case and stated in his defense that he had no connection to the incident. During the court proceedings, Öktem said he could not remember his phone password and added, "Even if I had provided it as required by the Attorneyship Law, I would not have shared it."

HE SAID "I HAVE NO CONNECTION TO THE INCIDENT" IN HIS DEFENSE
Öktem, who was detained for a while in the case of the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları General President Sinan Ateş, stated in his defense in court that he had no connection to the incident, that the individuals involved were his clients, and that there was no relationship other than the client-lawyer relationship between them.
HE COULDN'T REMEMBER THE PHONE PASSWORD
In response to the judge's question, "Do you remember your phone password?" defendant Serdar Öktem replied, "I do not remember my phone password." Ateş's lawyer asked, "If you had remembered the password, would you have given it? The phones of 21 out of 22 defendants were examined, Öktem's was not. If he had remembered, would he have given the password?" Öktem answered this question, "I would not have given it under Article 36 of the Attorneyship Law."

After Serdar Öktem was shot in an armed attack, a striking statement also came from Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş. In a post on her X account, Ateş stated, "No matter how despicable they are, even if they have not received their share of humanity, ensuring the safety of blood-stained murderers is important in terms of illuminating this political murder. Because they will all speak and will name the real perpetrators who assigned this political murder to them."
