The indictment has been completed in the investigation regarding the stabbing and murder of Serdar Bayar, who was at the police station on charges of molesting his cousin in Konya. It was stated that Enes Koçak used a knife given by his father, which was wrapped in a napkin, to inflict numerous blows on Bayar. Life imprisonment was requested for Enes Koçak and his father.

The indictment has been completed in the "murder at the police station" incident that caused an uproar in Konya. A life sentence was requested for Enes Koçak (22) and his father Seyfettin Koçak (47) for the crime of "premeditated murder" after Enes Koçak stabbed and killed Serdar Bayar (18), who was waiting with one hand handcuffed at the Lalebahçe Police Station on October 23, 2025.

UNARMED EXECUTION AT THE POLICE STATION

On the day of the incident, Serdar Bayar, who was taken to the police station on the allegation of harassing his 16-year-old cousin R.N.K., was waiting handcuffed to a bench in the corridor for his statement procedures. At that moment, Seyfettin Koçak and his son Enes Koçak, who entered the police station under the pretext of giving a statement, immediately attacked Bayar upon seeing him. According to the indictment; father Seyfettin Koçak began to punch the handcuffed young man, while his son Enes Koçak stabbed Bayar 8 times, 7 of which were fatal, with a knife he pulled from his waist.

ALLEGATION: "HIS FATHER GAVE HIM A KNIFE WRAPPED IN A NAPKIN"

One of the most striking details in the prepared indictment was the procurement of the murder weapon. It was stated in the indictment that the knife used by Enes Koçak in the incident was given to him by his father wrapped in a napkin before the incident, and that the suspect pulled this knife from his waist to carry out the attack.

DEFENSE OF THE SUSPECTS: "WE DID NOT PLAN"

The suspects claimed in their statements that the attack was not planned: Father Seyfettin Koçak: "I was quite angry because my nephew was forcibly held and abused by Serdar Bayar before the date of the incident. In this case, I took my son Enes Koçak to the Lalebahçe Police Station in my own vehicle for him to give a statement. I definitely did not know that my son Enes had a knife on him. I also had no idea that the victim Serdar was at the Lalebahçe Police Station. When we arrived at the police station with my son, there were a few police officers in the garden. I said we came to give a statement. We were not searched in any way. We entered, and as soon as we entered the police station, I saw Serdar Bayar sitting on a bench in the corridor. I recognized him because I had taken my nephew R.N.K. from him 2 days ago, and he had tattoos on his fingers. Seeing Serdar there, I was momentarily filled with anger and punched him. My son Enes was also hitting him from behind; I did not see that he had a knife at first. Later, my son was hitting him on the back with a knife. Before I could stop my son, the police came and intervened. We definitely did not carry out this incident in a planned manner. I regret what I did. I did not notice that Serdar was handcuffed while he was sitting on the bench," he said.

"I REGRET"

Enes Koçak stated in his testimony: "The 16-year-old R.N.K. is my uncle's daughter. My father used to help R.N.K. and my aunt, meeting their needs. My uncle's daughter R.N.K. had run away from home several times before. My aunt had asked my father for help because of this. When my aunt said that R.N.K. had run away from home again, we called and found my cousin and brought her to our workplace. We asked my cousin what had happened. She said that she had run away with a boy she met on the internet of her own free will, that they had used drugs, and that they had had sexual intercourse. I and the others did not do anything to my cousin. Later, my mother and my cousin's sister came to our workplace. My mother was angry with my cousin. Then, we went together to the Lalebahçe Police Station to give a statement regarding the complaint against us in my father's vehicle. On the night of the incident, around 1:00 AM, I went to the Lalebahçe Police Station with my father. We had absolutely no prior knowledge that Serdar Bayar was there. At the entrance of the police station, there was a police officer waiting in the garden with a large weapon and a few other officers. When my father said he brought me to give a statement, one of that group, I don't remember who, said we could go inside and that they could help us in the room on the right. We were not searched in any way when entering the police station. We then entered through the door, and my father was walking right in front of me. As soon as we entered through the outer door of the police station, I immediately saw Serdar Bayar sitting on the benches in the corridor. My father ran ahead of me and started punching him. When I saw my father hit him, I pulled out the knife from my waist and stabbed Serdar in the back several times. He could not retaliate against us. I did not see that Serdar's hand was handcuffed. Immediately afterwards, the police inside ran and intervened, taking the knife from my hand. There was absolutely no plan between my father and me to injure or kill him, and we did not come to the police station based on this plan; I regret what I did."

REQUEST FOR AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCE

The prosecution requested an aggravated life sentence for Enes Koçak and his father Seyfettin Koçak for the crime of "premeditated murder in participation." For Mahmud Sami Koçak (19), who is alleged to have assisted in the incident, a prison sentence of up to 20 years was requested.

Serdar Bayar's being held handcuffed in the corridor of the police station before his statement was taken and without an official arrest warrant was recorded as the biggest factor that prevented him from defending himself during the attack.
