BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian announced that they have imposed visa restrictions on U.S. officials who have exhibited bad behavior regarding issues related to Xizang (Tibet) in accordance with the principle of reciprocity.

During a press conference on Monday, Lin commented on China's countermeasures regarding the visa restrictions imposed by the U.S. on Chinese officials concerning issues related to Xizang.

Noting that issues related to Xizang pertain to China's internal affairs, Lin emphasized that the U.S.'s abuse of visa restrictions against Chinese officials seriously violates fundamental norms governing international law and international relations.

“Xizang is open to everyone. China warmly welcomes foreign friends who wish to visit Xizang, travel to Xizang, and do business in Xizang,” Lin added, stating that no country or individual will be allowed to interfere in issues related to Xizang under the pretext of human rights, religion, and culture.
