CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir denied this claim, stating, 'There is no date for a new party to share with you at this time.'
CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir held a press conference at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Emir recalled that the file regarding the 'absolute nullity' decision for the party's 38th Ordinary Congress was sent to the Court of Cassation one day before the judicial recess, and added that they would follow the legal process to the end.
RESPONSE TO CLAIMS ABOUT THE NEW PARTY'S ESTABLISHMENT DATE
Answering journalists' questions, Emir said regarding the new party claims: 'Everyone, especially in the pro-government media and trolls, deliberately and intentionally produce lies about the new party process, and they discuss those lies for a day. The lie is exposed, but it gets discussed that day. Nothing you haven't heard from us is true; those authorized to speak are known. Our Chairman will hold the regular group meeting tomorrow and will certainly make his assessments about the process. However, there is no date for a new party to share with you at this time.'
WHAT IS CHP'S POSITION IN THE 'TERROR-FREE TURKEY' PROCESS?
Evaluating his party's position within the scope of the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, Emir stated: 'For us to clarify our position, the content of the framework law must be clarified. Not only is the content of the framework law unclear, but even who owns it is unknown. Therefore, it would be irrational and impossible for us to comment on a framework law whose origin, preparer, recipient, and discussion partners are unknown. However, our position remains as it was from the first day. As CHP, when that day comes, with our identity under those conditions, we still say the same things we said at the start of the commission for the permanent end of terror in Turkey, for democracy and the rule of law. We prioritize standing on the right side of history, but imposing on us a process where we do not know who is preparing what content with whom and cannot foresee what it will bring is not correct, at least procedurally, compared to the approach that said, 'Let's sit everyone down, be transparent, open, and make everyone stakeholders' when writing the commission report. I hope these procedural shortcomings are resolved. So far, the Speaker of the Parliament has not requested a meeting from our Chairman.'
