CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı said they found the Mecca Agreement in line with national interests. Stating that they support the agreement, Sarı said, "We evaluate this as in line with our national interests. Of course, this does not mean; are there no risks to this agreement? This agreement also has risks. There is a risk that this agreement will drag Turkey into a hot conflict."

While the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made statements at the headquarters regarding the MYK agenda. Sarı stated that as the CHP, they support the Mecca Agreement.

"THE MECCA AGREEMENT IS IN LINE WITH OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS"

Sarı said, "We consider this to be in line with our national interests. Of course, this does not mean that; are there no risks to this agreement? This agreement also has risks. As the opposition, we are also warning the government about the risks of this agreement. We have also recorded this issue. There is a risk that this agreement could drag Turkey into a hot conflict. This is especially important with regard to the Saudi Arabia–Houthi tension. It is necessary to discuss and design mechanisms that will minimize this. We want all ambiguous issues to be discussed before the public, and also discussed on the parliamentary platform, and for all these aspects that we find lacking to be completed and for explanations to be made regarding all these aspects," he said.

"WE ALSO CONSIDER THE SUMMIT OF TURKIC STATE ORGANIZATIONS IMPORTANT"

Referring to the Summit of Turkic State Organizations to be held in Ankara, Sarı said, "As the Republican People's Party, we also consider the Summit of Turkic States Organizations important within this geopolitical system of ours, and we assess it as an important platform for developing our relations with our Turkic kin and for developing our economic and political relations. In particular, we consider it important to develop opportunities for cooperation with these states, with our kin states, in a manner consistent with the 2040 vision of the Turkic world," he said.

CONGRESS PROCESS

Sarı, stating that the congress calendar had been postponed, continued his words as follows:

"We have a precautionary decision regarding these congress and convention processes. We have also experienced the process of the withdrawal of this precautionary decision in the past. Since this withdrawal process has not yet become clear and has not been completed, in order not to leave room for a legal debate, we have simply pushed the start date back by 15 days. We assess that the court will decide within these 15 days. In my opinion, there is no legal debate. There is no legal admission. Therefore, this could be done today as well, but some lawyers assessed that putting the member lists up for display before the court decision becomes final could lead to an unnecessary legal debate. In order not to enter into that, we postponed it by 15 days. However, there is no change in the calendar we announced for the provincial and district congresses. We have only narrowed the process."

Regarding claims that if the absolute nullity decision is upheld, Özgür Özel's photograph would be removed from the CHP Headquarters, Sarı said the following:

"When the court decision becomes final, Özgür Özel and the administration of that period will, of course, be deemed null and void. Therefore, this is also a situation we are encountering for the first time in the history of the Republic of Turkey. In the face of this situation, all work and actions carried out in the interim period will be disregarded. That is, the website, the arrangements here, the work here, the party's materials, the arrangements involving its materials, will be disregarded in this process."
