Mahir Polat, Chairman of the CHP High Disciplinary Board (YDK), stated about Özkan Yalım, who was suspended from his position as Mayor of Uşak and expelled from the CHP, "The CHP High Disciplinary Board stands behind the statements of our esteemed CHP Chairman regarding 'purification and the CHP's return to a point of moral superiority.' Let no one have any doubt. There is no such thing as us forgiving Özkan Yalım."
CHP YDK Chairman Mahir Polat stated that Özkan Yalım, who was removed from the Uşak Mayor's office and expelled, was not forgiven, and that action was taken retroactively against a person who had already resigned.
CLAIM: "ÖZKAN YALIM WILL BECOME A CHP MEMBER AGAIN"
As debates continue following the annulment decision, the Chairman of the CHP Supreme Disciplinary Board has also been determined. Mahir Polat was elected as chairman during the YDK meeting. Sezgin Kaya was appointed as YDK Secretary, and Ahmet Ersen Özsoy as Deputy Chairman. The board decided to invalidate expulsion proceedings that occurred after the party's 38th Ordinary Congress. A request letter was sent to the MYK to notify the Supreme Court of the YDK's decision to cancel the expulsions. With this decision, it was claimed that Özkan Yalım, who is in prison, would also become a CHP member again.
Polat met with press members following his party's YDK meeting. Speaking about the debates regarding the cancellation of Özkan Yalım's expulsion, Polat noted: "Our predecessors made a decision regarding this friend, which has been considered null and void. If the CHP MYK processes the decision we sent, we will re-examine the files of all friends with ethical issues. Özkan Yalım submitted a resignation letter to our party from Silivri Prison on April 28. Our party registered this resignation letter with the General Secretariat on April 29, and a decision was made on May 2.
"THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS WE FORGAVE ÖZKAN YALIM"
Our friends from that period were delayed in expelling Özkan Yalım. They expelled someone who had already resigned. So they are talking about a man who had resigned. The CHP stands behind its Chairman's statements about 'purification and the party returning to moral superiority.' Let no one have any doubts. There is no such thing as we forgave Özkan Yalım. Action was taken later against a man who had already resigned. Therefore, from our perspective, Özkan Yalım is a matter closed to polemics."
