"I CONDEMN THIS ATTACK WHILE NEGOTIATIONS ARE CONTINUING"
Speaking to NBC News, Araghchi criticized the U.S. administration for launching an attack while the negotiation process is ongoing, stating, "We cannot just sit and watch them attack us. I do not understand the reason for the U.S. administration to start negotiations and then attack the other side in the middle of it."
Araghchi's statements were interpreted as a reaction to military steps while indicating Tehran's commitment to diplomacy.
MESSAGE TO TRUMP: REGIME CHANGE IS IMPOSSIBLE
In his message to U.S. President Donald Trump, Araghchi stated that regime change in Iran is not possible. Araghchi, who said, "Regime change in Iran is impossible," firmly rejected scenarios of political transformation through external intervention.
"WE HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO DEFEND OURSELVES"
Emphasizing Iran's defense capacity, Araghchi stated that his country is capable of defending itself without external support. He argued that attacks on U.S. bases in the region are also for defensive purposes, evaluating Tehran's military steps within the framework of "legitimate defense."
MESSAGE ON NUCLEAR AGREEMENT
Minister Araghchi stated that there is a possibility of an agreement that would guarantee Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, but currently, there is no contact with the U.S.
While the Tehran administration does not completely close the door to diplomatic solutions, it conveyed the message that it is not possible to negotiate under military pressure.
"HIGH-LEVEL NAMES ARE SAFE"
Araghchi also provided information regarding Iran's high-level officials. Stating, "As far as I know, Khamenei and Pezeshkian are alive," Araghchi indicated that the highest-ranking Iranian officials are safe.
