SHE FILLED THE BASEMENT WITH CLOTHES
The incident occurred in Gümüşpala Neighborhood in the Avcılar district. It was alleged that a woman, reported to be receiving psychological treatment, accumulated used and new clothes she collected from the surroundings in the basement of the building where she lived. The family of the woman, who was said to have continued collecting clothes despite warnings from her relatives, left the clothes accumulated in the basement in the empty space next to the building, fearing that a fine could be imposed by the municipality.

Residents who saw the clothes left on the street gathered in the area in a short time. Citizens who opened the bags and suitcases selected clothes they could use and filled them into plastic bags and bags. Many textile products, including uniforms, shoes, and blankets, were taken away by citizens.
MUNICIPAL TEAMS COLLECTED THEM WITH TWO PICKUP TRUCKS
Upon complaints from the surroundings, teams from the Avcılar Municipality Police Department came to the area and conducted an inspection. The teams also went to the address where the clothes were said to have been accumulated, but no one opened the door.
Thereupon, vehicles and personnel were requested from the Cleaning Affairs Directorate. Municipal teams dispatched to the area loaded the clothes and textile products scattered around onto two pickup trucks and removed them from the area.
NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS DESCRIBED WHAT HAPPENED
Neighborhood resident İsmet Karadağ, stating that leaving clothes on the street was not right, said, “You put them in bags, tell the municipality, they come and take them. They shouldn't be dumped on the street like this.”
Hüseyin Mutlu, on the other hand, stating that the clothes were carried by a child, used the expressions, “The old woman has apparently been collecting them from the garbage for quite a while and piling them up in the basement.”
