Singer Bengü, who married Selim Selimoğlu in 2018 and divorced in 2024, made statements about her marriage and her life after the separation on İbrahim Selim’s “Bu Gece” program. Bengü said she wished she had been more successful in her marriage.
“WE BECAME PARENTS VERY QUICKLY”
Answering the question “Has there ever been something you dreamed of that, when it came true, did not make you as happy as you expected?” Bengü pointed to marriage:
“Marriage. Because I am an Aries, there shouldn’t be anything I cannot succeed at. I failed at marriage. Also, we became parents very quickly. We got married, and three months later I became pregnant with Zeynep. Someone I love very much, the father of my children. But I would have really liked to be more successful in marriage.”
SHE CHANGED HER PHONE NUMBER FREQUENTLY
Explaining that she frequently changed her phone number after the divorce, Bengü stated that she leads a calm life. Saying that she does not like gossip, the singer stated that there are 15 people in her phone contacts.
Also expressing that her view of love changed with motherhood, Bengü said, “Love always seemed like something related to the opposite sex. Especially when you become a mother, you move to another kind of love. You truly understand not being able to see a love above that love.”
