An attempted kidnapping in broad daylight in the U.S. state of Hawaii was caught on security cameras. The attacker, who approached two women in an apartment building's garage, tried to carry the 24-year-old young woman in his arms to his pickup truck. The kidnapping attempt was prevented by the intervention of neighbors who heard the woman's screams, while the suspect, who fled the scene, was caught naked about 3 hours later.
Fearful moments were experienced in the Diamond Head area of Honolulu, Hawaii, around noon on Monday, October 26.
A man who arrived in his pickup truck in front of the Kainalu apartment building on Coconut Avenue entered the building's garage and approached the 77-year-old woman and her 24-year-old friend inside.
According to police records, the attacker began chasing the younger of the two women. When the older woman tried to protect her friend, the attacker struck the 77-year-old woman in the face with his elbow.
