In a television program discussing the candidacy crisis within the CHP, journalist Sinan Burhan shared noteworthy information regarding the statements made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who said, "We are in complete agreement with Mansur Yavaş and Ekrem İmamoğlu." Burhan indicated that Özel made these remarks despite Yavaş's position.
The discussions about the presidential candidacy in the Republican People's Party created a crisis. In the party, which decided to hold a primary to determine its candidate, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş decided not to participate in the primary.
However, while there were news reports in the media suggesting that Mansur Yavaş wanted to be a candidate, it was claimed that there was a rivalry between Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Yavaş.
THIS TIME A CONSENSUS CRISIS
The discussions in question also led to debates in the public; recently, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated in his party's group meeting, "We are in complete consensus."
However, Sinan Burhan, the Editor-in-Chief of Millet News Agency, made striking statements regarding the background of this sentence during a program he participated in on TV100 live broadcast.
YAVAŞ OBJECTED, ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAID IT AGAIN
Burhan reported that before the meeting, Özgür Özel told Mansur Yavaş, "Mr. Yavaş, we will use the expression of complete consensus," to which Yavaş replied, "We are not in complete consensus." Burhan also noted that despite Yavaş's objection, Özel stated, "We are in complete consensus."
