During a building demolition carried out as part of urban transformation in Küçükçekmece, terrifying moments were experienced. While the demolished building collapsed onto the construction machine, operator Abdullah Araç was trapped under the rubble. Rescued by the intervention of the teams, Araç was taken to the hospital for treatment.
In Istanbul's Kucukcekmece district, a building being demolished as part of urban transformation collapsed onto an excavator during the work. The excavator operator, Abdullah Arac, who was trapped under the rubble, was rescued by teams and taken to the hospital. It was learned that Arac's health condition is good, while efforts at the debris site continue.
BUILDING COLLAPSED ONTO EXCAVATOR
The incident occurred on Sultan Murat Street in Kemal Pasa neighborhood. The building being demolished as part of urban transformation collapsed onto the excavator during the work for reasons not yet determined.
With the collapse of the building, the excavator remained under the rubble, and operator Abdullah Arac was trapped in the debris.
TEAMS WERE DISPATCHED
Upon the report, fire brigade, health, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams began efforts to rescue the operator trapped under the rubble.
As a result of the efforts, Abdullah Arac was removed from the debris. After receiving first aid at the scene, Arac was taken to the hospital by ambulance. It was learned that his health condition is good.
WORK CONTINUES AT THE DEBRIS
While police teams took extensive security measures at the scene, AFAD teams' efforts at the debris area continue. An investigation has been initiated into the incident.
