Controversial claim from Sezgin Baran Korkmaz: He made millions of dollars of debt disappear.

The fugitive businessman Sezgin Baran Korkmaz, who was released in August 2023 in the US where he was detained on charges of money laundering, made striking statements during his appearance on Fatih Altaylı's program.

Sezgin Baran Korkmaz stated that he is owed 60 million dollars by İnan Kıraç and that he initiated a seizure process for this. He claimed that former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu intervened and said, "This is a state matter, you will erase İnan Kıraç's debt." Korkmaz stated that Soylu called him to his office for this and said, "I agreed and left without saying anything."

Sezgin Baran Korkmaz's statements on the program are as follows;

"45% of Kıraç Holding's shares were owned by the Nahum family. There was a problem between İnan Kıraç and the Nahum family. İnan Kıraç told me that he couldn't reach an agreement with the Nahum family and asked me, as an outsider, to buy the shares from the Nahum family and then sell them to him. I accepted. I met with the Nahum family. I bought 45% of Kıraç Holding's shares for 60 million dollars. Later, I asked İnan Kıraç for my money, but he refused. So, I obtained a precautionary attachment decision against İnan Kıraç in return for my debt."

"ERDOĞAN GAVE THE FILE TO ABDÜLHAMİT GÜL"

Upon this, İnan Kıraç went to Mr. Erdoğan and told him that Sezgin Baran Korkmaz was trying to bring him down, and Erdoğan gave the file to Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül. Abdülhamit Gül examined the file and stated to Erdoğan that it was a commercial debt issue. Later, someone told Mr. Erdoğan that there was a collapse issue involved in this matter and that it fell under the responsibility of the Minister of Interior. Then, Mr. Erdoğan gave the file to Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu.

"ARE YOU TREATING ME LIKE THIS BECAUSE I'M KURDISH?"

Upon this, Soylu invited me to his office in Ankara. When I went, I told him that I was legally right and that I had obtained a precautionary attachment decision against İnan Kıraç and that I would proceed with the seizure. Minister Soylu told me that I had to erase this debt and give the shares to İnan Kıraç free of charge. When I asked why, he said it was a state matter. When I said to Soylu, 'Are you treating me like this because I'm Kurdish?' a police chief in the room opposed me. The conversation went in different directions. Then I said, 'Are you talking to me like this because I'm not from Trabzon?' This time, the police chief stood up, and I stood up too. When tension arose, I left the ministry. After 10 minutes, they called me again. They invited me again. When I went, Soylu said, 'You will erase İnan Kıraç's debt, this is a state matter.' I said okay and left without saying anything.

"DID THEY CRUSH YOU IN ANKARA?"

Later, I called someone influential in the state in Ankara, I wanted to learn the connection of this issue with the state. He said that it had nothing to do with the state, that Soylu was being meddlesome to appear favorable to Erdoğan and Kıraç. Later, someone else called me and said, 'Did they crush you in Ankara?' When I asked what they meant, they said, 'Soylu called İnan Kıraç on video and explained the incident like this.' I didn't try to bring İnan Kıraç down, İnan Kıraç tried to bring me down. In fact, İnan Kıraç is not managing himself. He needs to be assigned a guardian. This is also behind the problems he is experiencing with his daughter.
