Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Greece, the Greek National Public Health Organization has raised the alert level. In the neighboring country, 21 people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the past 7 days, and 575 people have been infected with the disease. Warnings have been issued to the elderly and high-risk groups in the country.
The National Public Health Organization of Greece warned the elderly and high-risk groups in the country to be cautious and take necessary precautions against the increasing cases of Covid-19. In the weekly report published by EODY, information about the Covid-19 cases recorded from July 1st to 7th was shared.
21 PEOPLE DIED IN 7 DAYS, 575 PEOPLE CONTRACTED THE DISEASE
The report stated that 21 people died due to Covid-19 in the span of 7 days, and it was mentioned that 575 people who contracted the disease were receiving treatment in hospitals during the first week of July.
WARNING FOR THE ELDERLY AND HIGH-RISK GROUPS
The report included the following statement: "It has been determined that hospitalizations have increased due to the virus (Covid-19) being more active. We advise the elderly and high-risk groups to be cautious against respiratory infections and to immediately seek medical attention if they experience symptoms of Covid-19. We also call on the general population to limit close contact with high-risk groups."
