In the armed attack carried out by student İsa Aras Mersinli at Ayser Çalık Middle School in Kahramanmaraş, teacher Ayla Kara and 9 students lost their lives, and 15 students were injured. In the case opened after the attack, detained father Uğur Mersinli and mother Peyman Pınar Mersinli will face the judge for the first time tomorrow. A critical day has arrived in the judicial process regarding the school attack in Kahramanmaraş, where 10 people lost their lives. The first hearing of the case filed against the attacker's mother and father will be held tomorrow at 09:00.
1 TEACHER AND 9 STUDENTS LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE SCHOOL ATTACK
On April 15, a student, İsa Aras Mersinli, carried out an armed attack at Ayser Çalık Secondary School in Kahramanmaraş. Teacher Ayla Kara and 9 students lost their lives in the attack, and 15 students were injured. Following the incident, an investigation was launched by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the investigation, a case was also filed against the attacker's mother and father.
FATHER CHARGED WITH "MURDER BY POSSIBLE INTENT"
In the indictment prepared by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the attacker's father, Uğur Mersinli, was charged with "murder by possible intent" and "violation of Law No. 6136." A case was filed against the attacker's mother, Peyman Pınar Mersinli, on charges of "causing death and injury by conscious negligence." The prepared indictment was accepted by the Kahramanmaraş 3rd Heavy Penal Court, and a hearing date was set for the trial to begin.
FIRST HEARING TOMORROW AT 09:00
The first hearing of the case regarding the attack, in which teacher Ayla Kara and 9 students lost their lives, will be held tomorrow at 09:00 at the Kahramanmaraş 3rd Heavy Penal Court. With the hearing, the trial of the attacker's detained mother and father will begin.
MOTHER AND FATHER WILL TESTIFY VIA SEGBİS
The court sent writs to the penal institutions where the detained defendants, Uğur Mersinli and Peyman Pınar Mersinli, are held, for their participation in the first hearing. The two defendants are expected to be connected to the courtroom from their penal institutions via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS). Uğur Mersinli and Peyman Pınar Mersinli are expected to give their statements regarding the charges against them via SEGBİS as well.

Following the school attack that shook Turkey, the trial phase began with the acceptance of the indictment prepared after the investigation.
