Cübbeli Ahmet stated that a person who dies in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) during an earthquake, if they pass away after a legitimate relationship without taking a ritual bath (ghusl) and before the prayer time has passed, does not have any religious issues regarding this matter.
Theolog Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known to the public as Cübbeli Ahmet, made a striking statement regarding the "ruling on dying in a state of ritual impurity during an earthquake."
"IF HE GETS UP TO PERFORM GUSL..."
Cübbeli Ahmet stated in his speech that if a person is in a state of ritual impurity due to a legitimate relationship and the time for prayer has not passed, there is no religious objection to dying without performing the ritual ablution. Ünlü explained his fatwa with the words, "If he gets up to perform gusl, but dies before he can do so, there is no harm in that." These words quickly reached a wide audience and sparked discussions on social media.
